"Uncrashable" video/audio source and sinks

That makes sense to me.  Are there any big performance hits for this
approach to decoupling if I were to have  50 sets of inter*srcs and and
inter*sinks coupled together?  Would it be any worse than using a comparable
number of queue/input-selector/videotestsrc fallback elements?
