How can I get to know whether a element get my data or not

I have read these pages and learned some concepts about video encode and
container. But still  the problem is not that clear for me . As what I had
understood , getting nalu from mp4 container and pushing it to "appsrc !
h264parse" is totally wrong because of difference between nalu from mp4
container and nalu directly from h264 ? (ps. My mp4 file contains h264
encoded video only)

If what I had understood is right , should I use pipeline "appsrc ! qtdemux 
! h264parse ....."  and set caps of appsrc as "video/quicktime" ? 

if what I had understood if wrong , this mean nalus from mp4 container and
h264 encoded stream are same .
