../tools/make_element: command not found

Hello all,

I am trying to get started with plugin-development however I am stuck in the
very first step. I got the gst-template from the git clone command mentioned
in the Guide and upon trying to create an element named MyFilter I get error
mentioned in subject.

Please guide me through.
