Appsrc seekable in Push Mode

Hi,
    I am aware of the example given by Wim Taymans
https://code.google.com/p/ossbuild/source/browse/trunk/Main/GStreamer/Source/gst-plugins-base/tests/examples/app/appsrc-seekable.c

where he is making the appsrc seekable in push mode.Also input used in the
above example is file in local disk.But in my case video and audio frames
which i get from network are of unequal size.

I have also set "format" property of appsrc to "GST_FORMAT_TIME".Still i
need to set gst_base_src_set_format()?
