udpsrc not available on iPad (iOS 8.1.3)

That sounds wrong, with 1.4.5 it should work exactly the same way.
Nothing changed in that area :)

Can you check if with 1.4.5 the udpsrc plugin was actually linked in the
ARM version of your app? And if it showed up in the debug logs in the
very beginning when plugins were registered?
