h.264 GPU encoding

I try to do h.264 hardware encoding with a AMD A10 Micro 6700T CPU/GPU on
linux.
The GPU supports VCE 2.0 and should be able to encode h.264.
First I tried to use the vaapi package without success. 

Google also says, that VCE 2.0 is available by gst-omx. Omx is supported by
bellagio?
But what is bellagio?

So, I don't get it. Some keywords I tried to get together:
vdpau
vaapi
VCE 2.0
gst-omx
bellagio
mesa-va-drivers

Does somebody know how I get h264 encoding working on this chip? Which is
the right way? Are there different ways for the same solution?
