Can videorate be used to slow down a slide show? Or if not, other options?

I appreciate the heads-up.  The mailing list blackholed my subscription
request, so I'm sticking with nabble.  Hopefully my workaround works.  I'm
including a URL to hastebin for code, and then in-lining the raw-tagged code
at the end for nabble readers.
