Help me in writing a player based on gstreamer for raspberry pi

I have raised a Bug and have praposed a patch as well as you can find my test

I have a basic question. How can i find video resolution before creating a
window ? I want to create a window with resolution matching with video
resolution and set it in set_window_handle.
