color change and put text on buffer map data

Hi all,

I have buffer and mapinfo to and I can change color intensity. However,
whenever I change mapinfo's data value to 0, it gives me green screen
instead of fully black screen. Is it about the color format RGB or YUV or do
I miss something?

Also I'd like to put text on mapinfo's data but I don't know how. Should I
put text manually by accessing each pixel or is there any useful function or
tools to put text?
