This is exactly why HAL's FDI files exist.  They allow us to identify
devices that would otherwise look simply like a USB storage device as
cameras.  In fact, these digital cameras were the very first use cases
for the FDI files.

Yeah, we have to keep up a list, but you probably have to do something
fairly similar for non USB storage device cameras as well anyway.
