Since there seems to be some problem getting my point across I'll put it
very simple:
umount never gets called!
It doesn't matter if anyone has the drive open if noone tries to unmount
the damn thing.
And besides, a lazy unmount is designed to avoid this problem with
processes still having the drive open.
