Recognizing burned CDs

Hi!

In

the reporter noticed that if you burn a CD, hal does not notice the
new volume after the burning finished. It's not the worst bug in the
world, and I see that this is pretty tricky since burning does not
generate a hotplug event.

Does anybody have a good idea how this could be achieved? Is there a
way to notify hald to re-read a volume? Or can a hotplug event be
synthesized?
