udev-hal-dbus-gvm trouble

Hi!

I'm using ubuntu dapper (2.6.15-26-386).

Lately, I'm having problem with CD/DVD in Gnome (2.14).
I have two drives: DVDRW on /dev/hdc and DVD-ROM on /dev/hdd. When I
insert media in either drive nothing happens. When I insert USB disk it
autostarts and gnome creates icon on desktop. Formerly, I had such
behaviour for CD/DVD-s too.

If I go to "Computer" and double click drive with inserted media it mounts it
and udevmonitor reports:

If I double click again on same drive, gnome reports drive busy already
mounted
...

Eject is working OK.

In hal-device-manager on insertion of media nothing happens. Nothing
happens even if I mount it manually.

I compared my main desktop comp (where cd automount is not working well)
and my laptop (where everything is fine) with almost same sw packages and
only difference I noticed was that dbus-launch on workin system is coupled
with x-session, while on the other is coupled with gnome-session.

I only compared packages dbus, hal and udev and I don't see any difference
in conf files.

When I insert media in cd, "dbus-monitor --system" isn't showing anything!

Can anybody explain me how this damn thing is supposed to work because
documentation is next to nothing?

I would like to re establish functionality for CD/DVD as I have with USB
drves.
