--with-[doc|html]-dir vs --docdir/htmldir

Fine with me if you can 1) provide a patch; 2) outline changes, if any,
of this patch; 3) make a case that it will not break stuff. For the
record, I generally suck at understanding autotools so I'm not really
that good at reviewing such patches.
