How lshal gets informations?

Like most hardware programs, lshal doesn't use just hal it also uses
the dmidecode, biosdecode and even some ddc, i2c calls. Not all of
this is available via hal and I know from my experence with
dohickey-project.com that you can't always find the information you
need.
