I use a 64bit install. I first tried all three from a text console and I
did not notice any difference. Then I tried from within X11, and video
mode was allways restored. But now that I tried to switch to the text
console, I could see just black screen there. I have no idea what caused
it, but it happens to me usually (having the default s3_bios
+vbemode_restore in use), yet quite randomly -- tried another
suspend-resume cycle with either s3_bios alone, and with vbemode_restore
and while writing this mail and the console works fine.
