Hi, Daniel,

I certainly think it would be a good idea ...

...especially as you note that we did agree upon this informally. We
had also agreed that in order to display political neutrality, or
perhaps just to give some of the KDEers more opportunity to attend,
the 2nd meeting would be attached to --or at least close to the time
of-- aKademy this year.

This does not have to be fixed in stone, but the idea of alternating
between the Gnome and KDE conferences on an annual basis is certainly
a good one that will continue to build the kind of mature Free Desktop
comraderie that we already experienced in the first meeting.

However I'd really like to defer the choice to those most actively
involved in recent coding of HarfBuzz (Behdad, Simon, Lars, etc.) plus
folks like Eric Mader of IBM and Sharon Correll of SIL who were not
able to attend in person last year but clearly have a lot to offer
(and continue to express their interest in participating).

So, Daniel, does this mean that last year you were the one, or the
first one, who inquired with OSDL to secure some funding?

I would venture to suggest aKademy in Glasgow as the first choice,
followed by Cambridge as the 2nd choice. But let's see what others
say ...
