Lorant,

I've been looking for such a solution myself not so long ago, or for
people who'd be willing to contribute.

Fabrice Bellard suggested that the most feasible approach would be to
compile FreeType using Emscripten:
http://emscripten.org/

I have not proceeded any further with this, though -- but I'd be very
interested in participating somehow (though I'm not a developer).
