I made an api trace as well. Perhaps it's helpful. The game works just fine for
me:

OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 470/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 4.2.0 NVIDIA 304.88

I started the game, changed the "gfx settings slider" to MAX and loaded a
savegame. After that I quit the game.
