Fabio, yes there is a way to detect the hardware (with device PCI id number),
and my latest patch does it that way. The kernel load/modprobe parameter is
just an extra possibility for the case where there might be a device which
isn't recognized properly by the kernel. It may be the detection does not work
in all cases, but apparently it works for all machines mentioned in this thread
except posssibly the Toshiba Kirabook (no info for that yet).
Justin, thanks, I emailed Michael Marineau asking for lspci info, so that
machine can be quirked, too, or checked if it's already quirked with the latest
version of my patch.
