jkp, thanks for the explanation, I missed that patch.
Btw, why don't you create your local branch (off 3.11 perhaps), make your
changes there and then use `git format-patch` ?

Also:

+    DRM_INFO("applying IGNOE_EDP_BPP quirk\n");

there is a typo: s/IGNOE/IGNORE/.
