Please attach dmesg from early boot to the problem, with drm.debug=0xe module
parameter set. (Specifically please use the "Add an attachment" feature on
bugzilla instead of linking to pastebin, thanks.)

I didn't say it won't work, I said we don't have proper support for it. ;) It
might work, particularly with a one monitor setup, but no guarantees.

That's probably all right - but let's focus on getting your setup working
without nomodeset and external monitors first. Otherwise there are just too
many variables.
