We have been having these same issues with our Dell Vostro 230 workstations,
which have GMA X4500 graphics like the mobo in the OP's bug report.  We've
tried the stock Fedora 20 kernels, 3.16.6 and 3.17.7, as well as vanilla
3.14.23 and 3.14.26.

We haven't had a chance to test the drm-intel-nightly kernel, but attached is
the resulting output from dmesg after adding drm.debug=0x06 to the kernel boot
parameters.
