One thing I noticed is that Windows does not seem to reset the screen. It
simply takes over the screen from EFI and starts drawing on top of it.

On the other hand, the Linux driver seems to reset the panel, after which point
the screen remains blank.

Is it possible to tell the driver not to reset the panel?
