I understand the frustration.

However I think early adopters of any new hardware on Linux should be aware
that the support might not be there from day one. Sure, most of it works just
fine, even most Geminilake based devices, but there's almost always a long tail
of devices that might have issues.

You have to understand that the devices shipped running Windows. Usually the
OEMs have done *zero* validation on Linux. Absolutely none. They may be
Intel-powered devices, but, for example, Intel did not choose or integrate the
display. You don't see the OEMs participating upstream or even on their own
forums regarding Linux.

It's an impossible proposition to expect full Linux support and validation from
Intel on all Intel CPU based devices running Windows the plethora of OEMs have
conceived to produce.

Even so they mostly work remarkably well, and has lead to the high
expectations.
