I understand the situation. I just wish for better standardization so OEMs
won't resort anymore to tricks outside of specification which could be a cause
for this problem we have here.

Now I'll ask something that may come off as insinuating, but I promise this
comes from genuine curiosity: Does Intel have a unified graphics driver team
for both Windows and Linux? I'm asking this because I'd again like to know if
there is some way to know what the Intel graphics driver for Windows could be
doing right. I once installed a clean Windows installation on this same D330
device and I think I remember Windows before installing the iGPU driver
behaving similar to Linux with i915 disabled, so there's a chance that it's not
Windows per se that's doing something right, but the Windows iGPU driver.
