Suffice it to say *I* am not familiar with the Windows driver source. ;)

It's entirely possible we're missing something or doing something wrong in the
i915 driver. It's also entirely possible something else related to e.g. GPIOs
is wrong in the kernel outside of i915 driver.

The point remains, if it's not tested, it doesn't exist.
