No improvements with fastboot enabled (i915.fastboot=1), but coincidentally
(this also sometimes happen without fastboot parameter) this shows
off-on-off-on panel behavior, as indicated by the mipi sequences.

I'm starting to think there may be something problematic with the modesetting
logic.
