Ugh, I failed to send my previous message which was quite long with details...

But I observed that the power offs are triggered by drm_atomic_commit ->
intel_atomic_commit_tail -> *crtc_disable, which seems to be the modesetting
process.

This also happens in the unpatched kernel, but seems to be normal modesetting
process. So I decided to check if enabling fastboot would help by potentially
eliminating that modeset.

So is there a way to verify what mode it is modesetting to?
