By the way,
I just came home and I had some time to test around with KMS on -rc6 and
I noticed several problems as well as the suspend/resume. I don't
complain and I know they'll get fixed anyway, but I just would like to
list them so that developers can check that too:
1) Going from X to VT is broken. When my kdm starts, I try to go to any
VT and the kdm image freezes. Then I can come back by pressing Alt+F7,
and the kdm image is not frozen anymore (cursor moves).
2) When doing these VT switches, then KDE hangs at some point, and I
think it hangs when it loads the composite manager (I am using the
OpenGL backend).
3) Xv is broken. I cannot play any video using Xv on -rc6 with KMS
enabled. For instance I tried mplayer -vo xv. I get the audio, but Xv is
not acquired and mplayer complains that there is no video
initialization.
So that's all for now. These three issues I tell come besides the
suspend/resume funky stuff and the other thing that I mentioned about the
Software Rasterizer. But it is probably fixed with upstream libdrm and
mesa.
If some of these problems should not happen, please let me know in case
I must file a bug report.
