Hi,

once again I tried to get something usabe with the current Intel driver
on my Mac mini Core Duo. Version 2.7 and kernel 2.6.30 were a total
failure. Now I tried kernel 2.6.31-rc2-00452-g7638d53 and xorg-intel
2.8-rc2.

In the console, when I load the i915 module, the screen gets black.
This is the kernel output:

mtrr: no MTRR for 80000000,10000000 found
[drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810
i915 0000:00:02.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
i915 0000:00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64
i2c-adapter i2c-2: unable to read EDID block.
i915 0000:00:02.0: DVI-D-1: no EDID data
i2c-adapter i2c-2: unable to read EDID block.
i915 0000:00:02.0: DVI-D-1: no EDID data
[drm] TV-10: set mode NTSC 480i 0
[drm:drm_helper_initial_config] *ERROR* connectors have no modes, using
standard modes
[drm] fb0: inteldrmfb frame buffer device
[drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20080730 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0

The computer has just a DVI-I output, an LCD with a resolution of
1680x1050 is connected via DVI.

It looks like the EDID routines failed.

Regards,
Tino
