As it does the same thing, but in a different internal way (bios memory
layout changed), I don't think so.

I understand, but I am not allowed to sign-off-on that original driver
anymore due to some very bizarre reasons :(

So, feel free to run with the original and submit it yourself as the
license is GPLv2.
