The main fix we need in 2.9.x and 2.8.x if it works with X server 1.7 and KMS is
8a77877f9c2c6a8a1308bc1a3be9e7ad88bc7f49
I fixed the colormap handling in the kernel to actually work the way
it is meant to,
and it broke Intel on Xserver 1.7, so we need to urgently get a fixed
Intel driver
to ship in Xorg 7.5. The bug can be reported as corruption, artifacts
but its generally
just the wrong colors in the colormap as the driver hasn't set it up properly.
