[Intel-gfx] kernel DMAR needed?

Does anyone know if DMAR is still needed for the G45 with intel driver
2.8.0/2009Q2 package?

Was using kernel 2.6.30.5 boot param  intel_iommu=on
Haven't tried  intel_iommu=igfx_off  yet.

Does any of this affect how suspend/resume works?
