The reason I asked is that 1360x768 hardware does seem to exist, and I've yet
to see anyone with it report success on Linux with native widescreen video
modes, reporting "success" only with the inferior 4:3 fallbacks 1024x768 or
worse.
1366x768 originated as lowfi HDTV, which it still is, even though used lately
for some low price computer displays. Though 1366x768 within crude enough
rounding comes out to 16:9, I suspect OS driver devs would rarely be using
it, making it more likely to be buggy if it even works at all. Sticking with
the more common widescreen modes (1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200,
1920x1080) should offer better likelihood of consistent success as driver
evolution progresses.
