Hi, Gentlemen,
Hope this is the right mailing list to ask question regarding Intel
graphic performance issue. Please let me know the right mailing list
if
intel-gfx is not the right one.
We have a machine running ubuntu 10.04 (kernel version 2.6.32). The
application is simple: It has a display area of 640x480 showing image
at about
30Hz rate. The screen resolution is 1024x768. Out side of display area
we have some text display. The CPU is intel T3500, i915 chipset for
graphics.
The problem we have is at this display rate, xorg process is taking up
about 25% CPU. Is this number normal, or should I expect xorg CPU
usage <=5%?
We don't have xorg.conf file configured. So I suspect HW acceleration
is not used at all. We can wipe out
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so, everything is
still running, almost the same CPU usage from xorg. The application
drawing is through GTK/Cairo. So not sure whether the problem is
inside configuration of GTK, Cairo, X or the
Intel graphic driver.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Guo
here is my lspci -nnk output. Attached is the Xorg.0.loog file.
