Can you give a bit more details about "rmnet"?

When I switch my 4G Quectel modem (EM05-E) to "rmnet" 
(at+qcfg="usbnet",2), then MBIM as cdc_mbim occurs.

Is this what you wanted to tell me, that I shall used cdc_mbim instead? 
Or is it something different?
