Yeah; sorry about that -- I had a run of several conferences in a row; back
as of last night, though.
Here's a draft paragraph or two:

Libre Graphics Meeting 2014 in Leipzig, Germany
Libre Graphics Meeting 2014, the annual conference and workshop for users
and makers of free software creative applications, will take place on April
2*–*5, at Leipzig University in Leipzig, Germany.
LGM 2014 will be hosted by Leipzig University in partnership with members
of the local FLOSS community, including Sublab Hackerspace, freifunk,
RadioBlau, and RadioTux. The event is open to anyone with an interest in
open source graphics, design, and creative culture. Software developers
and artists alike are invited to attend, and will be welcome to submit
topics for presentations, hands-on workshops, and birds-of-a-feather
sessions once the call for participation is officially opened.
2014 will mark the ninth anniversary of LGM, the premiere gathering of the
free software graphics community, drawing developers, users and supporters
alike from across the globe.

As always, I urge that announcements be kept as short as humanly possible.
In this case, since the CFP is still quite a ways away, and there may be
lots more to come re: branding and other specifics, that shouldn't be a
problem.
But, I do have some questions:
* Is there anything else which it is necessary to add to this announcement
specifically?
* Are the dates and the hosting at the university fixed enough to announce
in particular (if not, giving specifics could lock us in accidentally)?
* Is the listing of "partner" organizations accurate and reasonable?
And, of course:
* Who can translate the announcement into their language?
Thanks,
Nate
