It's interesting that you are concerned that a decision you were 
involved with might risk subsequent changes, since this is exactly what 
happened this year at LGM, when the decision from LGM 2012 for LGM 2014 
was changed to include new proposals.

Among the reasons for trying to make site selection a 2 year in advance 
process was to avoid what we're going through now, which is how things 
were in the past. No decision is made at LGM, then there is this 
uncomfortable period afterward where there seems to be limited feedback 
and input on making a decision, not to mention the lack of any structure 
for voting to make the decision. So a decision gets made, people feel 
they were left out, and we can't help but go through the same process 
again, since by the time LGM 2014 will be decided, no one will have the 
energy to begin to decide about 2015. As Femke mentioned, there isn't 
any LGM board, merely a list of people who, when asked if they would 
help make administrative decisions, agreed.

AFAIK, Sirko is not off the list. I think we've tried to put that whole 
incident to rest, and I guess he's just resting in the background now.
