Hi

I chatted for about an hour to https://twitter.com/GChriss about the
streaming set up used at the FSF Libre Planet this year.

His general recommendation is for the LGM team to look into handling this
with the stuff he's posted online, and that he could be contracted to
consult/help out if needed, as its better for events to find out their own
needs by trying it themselves before seeking help :)

He said that the lp wiki page has a comprehensive list of hardware used,
which is pretty much the cheapest way to stream and record a 3 track event
using only libre software:

He suggested that planning the hardware requirements was one of the first
things; eg needing around 50Gb of disk on each laptop for each 8 hour video
feed, and needing particular cameras that can work with libre drivers.

Chris mentioned the following links to study later

http://media.openvideo.pro

git clone git://code.openvideo.pro/openvideo-build.git

(Chris noted this needs a little more cleanup work to complete transition
to trisquel 7.0, but is already close)
