Among hard lessons learned from a couple of past LGMs, is that we want
to avoid parallel tracks for presentations. Thus having a large room
able to host 250 people or more (not uncommon for our European LGMs)
is desired. Smaller rooms for parallel sessions of workshops/BOFs[1]
scheduled at separate times from the main room presentations is the
format we've landed on. Deconflicting the workshops/BOFs to minimise
the risk of splitting some ones interests is already rather difficult.

1: BOF - birds of a feather[2], a somewhat confusing internation
conference acronym based on an idiomatic english expression[2].
2: "birds of a feather flock together" is based on the observation
that birds of the same feather(species) fly together in one flock,
feather is used as a analog for interest, and thus in the conference
context it means that people with shared interests gather for
conversation about their interests.
