[LGM] Formal Motion on 2018 and 2019 Venues

Hi all,

happy to answer whatever questions you may have. We didn't mean to
push but depending on the likely scope of the event it does need a bit
of organizing time.

We also really enjoyed the discussion about Paris because we feel that
especially now we need to make sure that cross-border cooperation is
something we want and are comfortable with. Whatever you think about
the EU, Europe works at the grassroots level, and because we have
colleagues in Metz (incl. http://tcrm-blida.com/) and Luxembourg
(http://www.rockhal.lu/rocklab/, http://www.technoport.lu), each about
an hour away, we would like them to act as co-hosts to whatever extent
possible, linking the event to their local FLOSS dynamics and possible
developing satellite events there. Jehan, if this would interest you
and your colleagues, let's talk (regardless of whether we end up doing
this in 2018 or 2019).

Frank, after talking to my colleagues we feel that we would have
similar co-funding opportunities for 2019, all of which remain to be
confirmed of course. So I really want to emphasize that 2018 and 2019
are both ok options for us. If 2018, first or second quarter might be
a bit ambititious though, Sept would probably work better. For 2019,
however, there would be more time to synch an LGM with
https://2017.revision-party.net/ which always occurs (not which is
always carefully organized by a group of highly committed people).
