hi greg

 > * a final decision on dates for LGM

afaict, the dates are definitive and published on the website.
> * work on various aspects of the website, such as some coherent design,
> information about the venues, information for travelers, information
> about lodging and transportation in the city. A lot of this doesn't have
> to be completed right away, but a structure which makes places for
> future information can start at any time.

the local team is in charge of the site and will be filling the missing
pages.

currently, the priority is on the call for participation and i think
that we're on track there.

your comments about the missing content are correct, and -- afaik --
filling the missing pages is in the pipeline.
(most of it will be shaped around what was on the previous lgm yearly sites)

> * some further development of the information in the HackMD page.

if i understand correctly the conclusions in yesterday's discussion, i
would say that the CFP should now be almost definitive.
if anybody on this list has any feedback, please send it here as soon as
possible.

> * recruiting the numbers of people and expertise in Seville (and
> elsewhere) to make many of these things happen simultaneously and in a
> coordinated fashion. Perhaps they just need to know that it's Ok to

as far as i can tell, there are already 4 "local" people active in the
organization.
and two local organizations are involved.

if i compare with the way other LGM have progressed, i would say that
the sevilla one seems to be well on track.

i wonder if it would be beneficial to create some sort of public roadmap
with dates and people working on it...

> The finances are certainly not trivial, yet should not be an impediment

> Something I tried to advance in the past was the idea that past

> LGM. It might even be worthwhile putting together a playbook that spells
> these things out, not just for those preparing the next LGM, but also
> for those who might submit a proposal some time in the future. After
> more than a decade of LGMs there should be a wealth of information that

we (i) have been collecting the information in

http://libregraphicsmeeting.org/lgm/ (a wordpress site; any organizer
can ask for editor rights!)
and
https://github.com/libregraphicsmeeting/infrastructure

it's a work in progress, still not good in enough in my eyes, but it's a
start... feel free to complete the /lgm site with more / better information!

have a wonderful day
