Hi everyone,

This is a little update about the ongoing organization of the online LGM
2021.

We had a local-organizers meeting today, and here is the status:

- we are going to setup a server with a dedicated Peertube instance, so
we can use its new live feature to stream the conferences, and with a
Jitsi instance that we can use for the Q&A sessions. After the event,
this Peertube instance will stay in place to host Libre-Graphics related
videos, as it can be a good thing to have an instance specialized on
this topic.

- we plan to launch the call for conference next week, and to keep it
open for 3 weeks; and then take around one week to make the selection,
so it should leave enough time for speakers to prepare their talk. Three
types of conference will be available: talk, lightning talk and demo. We
decided to not propose workshop and replace it with demo, as we could
see from last year experience that a simple demo seems more appropriate
than an interactive workshop in online events.

- about the dates, we aim for May 27th to 30th. This is almost what we
announced earlier, but offset a bit to cover the week-end, which should
make it easier for those not available during "work days".

- we will still give the option, for those who can and really want, to
come to ActivDesign's office in Rennes for in-person meeting and
hacking, providing the situation allows it at that time. But the event
itself will be online and not depend on this.

We hope this plan satisfies everyone, let us know if you have additional
comments.

Cheers,

Timothée
