Using the daily builds of LO for Android 5.4, on Android 5.1.1, Moto G (2013).

This has now been fixed in the daily builds. There is now a way to choose
"grid" or "list" in the file explorer. Grid also shows three (3) icons in each
row on my phone.

This is not a problem for me anymore.

This is still a problem. An simple option could do this.

This is now solved. LO for Android shows recent files at the top of the File
Explorer view.

I propose that we mark this bug RESOLVED and open a new bug for to add an
option to show/hide hidden files in File Explorer view.
