You know there is an insert image button in the toolbar right? :D

Yes if optimization was disabled in the document, you could then enable it in
the file properties dialog and then save the document and then all images would
be optimized at that time.

Yes 300, 220, 200, 150 and 96 would be available options.

It will be optimized once at a specific dpi when you insert it and wouldnt be
optimized again.
