Ah OK, I get your point now, but:

1. As we both agree that "Label" will have the full name, and that isn't the
case for now, all those short names currently in "Label" will need to be
re-translated anyway, even according to your proposal.

2. I know nothing about how translations work, but as we don't plan to change
the strings themselves, only their context, maybe it will be possible to script
the change, so it won't require re-translation of anything? If yes, I think
that it worth spending the time on such script, if as a result we'll get a
system that will better serve us in the long run.

Anyway, that's a good point. We shouldn't accept any solution that doesn't have
a clear migration path for existing translations, and we shouldn't push any
change before we have the solution for translations already in place.
