--- Comment #6 from Jacques <jacques at steyn.pro> ---
I suspect that the problem relates to the User Profile.

It seems that LibreOffice does not keep previous or already existing user
profiles -- unlike what seems to be standard practice. I use many, many
software apps and all seem to keep user profiles and settings when upgrading.

A couple of other tings that are also not kept when updating:

* Stylesheets
not only user designs, but also user paths
This even includes the Default writer template, which prior to this last update
just refused to change my basic font preference.
I even deleted all the default writer templates I could find, yet still I could
not get rid of that template.
Fortunately, since this very last update that seems to now be fixed.

* Language and auto-correct settings
-- personally I hate the auto stuff and need to disable them every time after
an update

* Customize settings
After every update I need to go through the unnecessary process of re-doing all
my personal set-ups.

Surely it is not necessary to overwrite user profile settings when updating.

Thanks everyone who is doing such marvelous work.
