Yes, it seems like the original issue was either fixed by Oracle or is moot now
that 10.10 is required. Comment #11 says it was actually WFM at that point

The issue in comment #31 seems to be a new issue with OpenJDK? I can select
Oracle Java in 6.4.2 just fine

(aside, what's the point in supporting OSes that don't receive security fixes
by Apple? 10.13 is the latest supported version by Apple)
