I can't share the 360mb file... there are some very confidential things in
there.

However, I can reproduce the lag by starting with a 1 slide presentation then
adding a text box and a picture.

Click between the picture, textbox, and blank area on the slide.  Try selecting
nothing then right click on the picture to bring up properties.  When you do
any of these operations, there is a 1/2 to 1 second delay between clicking and
the GUI showing a selection with the context appropriate toolbars redrawn.
